Arc de Triomphe

Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris, and became one of the places you should visit when in Paris. This building resembles a large gate, and was built by Napoleon in 1806 as a symbol of French victory.
Arc de Triomphe standing in the middle of Place Charles de Gaulle at the western end of Champs-Élysées. There is a small arch, the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, which stands west of the Louvre. Arc de Triomphe honor those who fought and died for France in the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all the French victories and generals are listed on the surfaces inside and outside. Under the dome lies the Tomb of Unknown Soldier from World War I.

This monument stands 50 meters (164 feet) in height, 45 m (148 ft) wide and 22 m (72 feet) deep. Large dome is 29.19 m (95.8 feet) high and 14.62 m (48.0 feet) wide. Small dome is 18.68 m (61.3 feet) high and 8.44 m (27.7 feet) wide.
